Wind Energy: How it works

• Wind energy is a renewable resource
• Wind is caused by the uneven heating of the Earth's surface
• Wind spins a propellor that spins a shaft
• The shaft has a magnet that creates electricity when it spins around a copper coil.
• The electrical energy produced goes to power electrical devices.
• The place best to put a wind turbine is a windy area.
• This works similarly to geothermal, nuclear, and fossils fuels because they also spin a turbine.
